St. Louis Zoo Workshop: Producing More with Pollinators

Join Ed Spevak, St. Louis Zoo Curator of Invertebrates and Director of the Zoo's WildCare Institute Center for Native Pollinator Conservation, and the staff of Gateway Greening, a local organization focusing on food-producing urban gardens, to learn about native pollinators and how they can positively impact the harvests from your garden. This class will use specimens and handouts to learn how to identify pollinators in the field, cover the basics of pollination in the garden, and talk about ways that you can increase pollinator activity in your garden or backyard with strategic plantings and shelters. Participants will walk away from the class with seeds, information, and handouts that will prepare them to garden more effectively alongside beneficial native pollinators.
