Wayside Community Garden
The Wayside Community Garden is located on a three acre site at the intersection of Florissant and Bermuda Road in Normandy. This garden is under the umbrella of the Citizens for the Advancement of Normandy (CAN), an organization dedicated to the “improvement of the quality of life in the Normandy area.” CAN first established the community garden in an effort to draw attention to a historic home on the property— the private estate once lived in by Hardy Family of Hardy Salt Company. Today, with a renewed use for the property, the Wayside Community Garden begins its second growing season continuing to expand upon its membership and incorporate education and community involvement thanks to an agreement with the Normandy School District to lease the house and grounds.
As a Hub Garden, Wayside proposes to offer educational workshops, a tool lending program and eventually seedling propagation and distribution.
