We are excited to share with the entire Gateway Greening family some new changes to the Volunteer Program!  All garden leaders that wish to receive group volunteer support in the 2017 growing season, must attend this training in order to receive group volunteer support for the 2018 growing season.

Individual and group volunteers are essential to accomplishing our mission and we could not do what we do without our dedicated community of supporters.

As you may or may not know, Gateway Greening hosts approximately 2,600 volunteers annually through individual or group opportunities.  This equates to 12,700 hours of service provided to our network of over 220 community and youth gardens and the Demonstration Garden.

To better support you as garden leaders, community gardeners, teachers, members and our volunteers, we will now offer a garden leader training for sites that would like to receive group volunteer support through Gateway Greening.  This workshop will focus on sharing best practices, reviewing Gateway Greening policies on safety & liability, frequently asked questions, documentation and circulating your success stories – empowering us all to build our volunteer network further and the capacity of our neighborhood projects.

Please contact our Volunteer Team to schedule a training session in order to receive group volunteer support for the 2018 growing season.


Garden Leader Volunteer Trainings are held by request at Gateway Greening’s office, and on Saturdays at the Carriage House location.
