Seedfolks book (young adults): Read and discuss portions of this award-winning book and investigate the garden for similarities within the book.

-Scavenger Hunt: Explore the garden in a fun hunt for colors, shapes, and organisms, and use simple math and language arts to describe the world.

-Pollinators: Learn about the importance that pollinators play within our lives through field investigations and a fun, interactive game (best during warmer months when plants are flowering).

-Composting: Get your hands dirty investigating the processes that create soil and learn how they can recycle food and organic waste into fertilizer for plants.

-Insects & Invertebrates: Get a chance to take a close look at various critters big and small that inhabit the soil and plants that we eat.

-Sensory Exploration (great for younger students): explore their world through various senses and activities.

-Self-guided Visit: This option is available for groups that would like to use our garden sites for their own educational program. Gateway Greening staff will be at the site for the duration of the program. This option is limited to 60 minutes.

-Other: Gateway Greening staff are flexible to create a field trip based on the groups’ interests and educational objectives.
